Conditions matter. These details describe a specific type of trip, not every Hawaiian Airlines itinerary.
Can your dog fly in the cabin?
Yes, with conditions
Small dogs are accepted in secured carriers.
Stow under the seat for taxi, takeoff, landing and crew instructions. No exit or bulkhead seats.
What does it cost?
$35 within Hawaii · $100 mainland–Hawaii
Both fees are per carrier, each way. The $35 rate applies only to travel wholly within Hawaii.
The $100 rate applies between Hawaii and the U.S. mainland. Mainland–Hawaii travel also requires health documents; entry into Hawaii has additional clearance requirements.
Choosing a carrier
17 × 11 × 9.5 in · maximum
Only soft-sided carriers are accepted.
Your dog must fit comfortably inside; the carrier must be ventilated, secure and leak-proof.
Reserve a place for your dog
Reserve pet space before the day of travel with a Hawaiian agent.
Space is limited and assigned first come, first served.
Minimum age
8 weeks
Dogs must also have eaten solid food without nursing for at least five days.
Is there a weight limit?
No published numeric limit
The current cabin page does not state a numeric weight limit.
Comfortable fit inside the under-seat carrier remains required.
Decisions before you book
These are questions to resolve with the airline, not newly confirmed permissions. A fresh full-page source review remains incomplete.
Separate the flight booking from Hawaii entry clearance
QUESTION TO CONFIRM
Put two confirmations in your travel folder: the operating airline’s cabin-pet arrangement and the destination’s health and entry requirements. Ask which documents apply to your arrival airport and travel direction; a pet reservation does not settle that second question.

QUESTION TO CONFIRM
Give the airline the actual flight, aircraft and Main Cabin seat, and state whether the leg is mainland–Hawaii or between islands. Confirm carrier type, usable space, total pet charges and remaining cabin baggage for that specific itinerary.
Hawaiian — pets in cabinUse the answers for the route and operating flight you will actually take. A different cabin, aircraft or connection can change the result.

Traveling to or from the mainland?
Mainland–Hawaii travel requires a veterinary health certificate. Entry into Hawaii also involves specific health, document and inspection requirements, which depend on your arrival airport. Arrange these before booking; reserving a cabin pet does not provide entry clearance.
