HOW TO READ OUR GUIDES

Clear sources.
Honest limits.

Our aim is to help you understand airline information and prepare better questions for your trip.

Editorial status: research and source checks are AI-assisted. The initial launch guides received editorial approval on October 1, 2026. Later additions show their own source-check dates. No firsthand flight or product-testing claims are made.

What these guides add

We organize selected official rules into decisions about the carrier, seat, other baggage and reservation. Airline rules link to their sources. Booking questions and worksheets are planning aids, not extra airline permissions, medical advice or official travel documents.

How AI is used

AI assists with finding sources, drafting and comparing information. An AI check or a second AI reading is not independent human verification. We do not claim that every update has been reviewed by an airline, veterinarian or professional editor. We make no firsthand flight or product-testing claims.

Start with the official source

Each airline rule links to the source used for its review. A check records the source, date, applicable trip type and outcome. You can follow the link to read the airline’s complete wording and exceptions.

Read the scope with the answer

The current guides cover a limited set of rules for pet dogs in the cabin on selected airline-operated U.S. routes. Most cover the contiguous United States; Hawaiian covers mainland–Hawaii and inter-island flights. Partners, specific aircraft and cabins can have different conditions. International travel, entry into Hawaii, cargo and service animals need separate guidance.

Carrier recommendations and maximum dimensions are different. A fee has a currency, charging basis and direction. The comparison keeps these qualifications beside the headline value.

What the labels mean

Last checked
The latest recorded review confirmed the displayed information or its stated uncertainty. It is not a guarantee of acceptance or a live check at the moment you visit.
Review needed
The planned review date has arrived or the latest review requires follow-up. Headline values are replaced with a request to confirm the current rule.
Outdated — confirm with airline
The latest review marked the information outdated. Previous wording may remain visible for context, beside this status.
Not specified
The reviewed sources do not specify this detail for the trip type covered. This does not mean there is no restriction; confirm with the airline.
Cabin-specific limit — see conditions
A restriction applies to a particular cabin or aircraft. It must not be read as a universal weight limit, or as an absence of all limits.
Question to confirm
A planning question for the airline, not a statement that the airline permits or requires the suggested arrangement.
No published numeric limit
The reviewed source did not state a numeric limit. Fit requirements and other restrictions still apply.

Dates and changes

The date at the top is the conservative baseline for the recorded rule reviews: a later check of one detail or an added worksheet does not advance it. Additional decision notes have their own review records and follow-up notices. A full-guide date is advanced only after the displayed factual rules have been reviewed together. Review dates are scheduled, but the site does not currently run automatic policy monitoring. Airline policies may change between reviews.

Core policy changes are recorded as new revisions and reviews in the database; earlier records are retained. The guides and comparison read the same current records. Supplemental decision notes and worksheets are versioned with the site. If sources conflict, we describe the conflict rather than silently choosing a convenient answer. If a source cannot be fully checked, we do not turn that failed check into a claim that no restriction exists.

Before relying on an answer

Open the airline source and confirm your exact itinerary with the operating airline. If this guide and the airline disagree, use the airline’s current requirements and ask for clarification.
