Conditions matter. These details describe a specific type of trip, not every Southern Airways Express itinerary.

Can your dog fly in the cabin?

Yes, with conditions

Dogs remain inside their carrier throughout the flight.

Keep small carriers at your feet during takeoff and landing; lap placement must not obstruct the aisle.

What does it cost?

$35.00 each way · per pet

Small-pet fee per animal, per direction.

Booking inside 48 hours or arriving without arrangements incurs a $100 charge. Confirm the total.

Choosing a carrier

Confirm seat-space fit

Confirm a carrier that fits at your feet or on your lap.

The published 40 × 27 × 30 in kennel maximum is for a bench seat, not this small-pet option.

Reserve a place for your dog

Call at least 48 hours before departure.

Pet capacity is limited; arrange space when making your reservation.

Minimum age

Is there a weight limit?

15 lb · passenger-seat option

The passenger-seat allowance is 15 lb combined pet weight.

The fee section also mentions 25 lb shared carriers and separate seats from 16 lb. Ask Southern to confirm your arrangement.

Decisions before you book

Ask where the carrier goes during takeoff and landing

Section 13 distinguishes lap and at-feet placement for small pets, with floor placement during takeoff and landing and no obstruction of the aisle. Confirm how your carrier will be secured; this is not a standard under-seat airline comparison.

Keep the carrier and weight category together

QUESTION TO CONFIRM

Give Southern the dog’s weight, carrier weight, measurements and route. Ask which category your combined setup falls into and whether an additional seat or other arrangement is needed. Do not treat an unused seat as approval for a pet.

Use the answers for the route and operating flight you will actually take. A different cabin, aircraft or connection can change the result.
